WE KEEP US SAFE: THE BLACK ARTS COLLECTIVE & THE POPULAR UNIVERSITY FOR GAZA
Curated by Erin Macanze
“We Keep Us Safe, reflects on the legacy of black radical expression and is a tribute to the history of Palestinian, Black, and international liberation struggle movements. We call attention to the interconnected nature of these liberation movements, and learn from their guiding principles. The same principles from which this show draws its name.”
A reception was held on Friday, May 24th in the Lucas Gallery at 185 Nassau St. The show featured work from both The Black Arts Collective and artists from the Popular University for Gaza. The exhibition was open from May 23-26, 2024.
